Mrs. Jacqueline Marie Brown Mitchell was born November 13, 1960 in Washington, DC to the late Aldus Waters and Thelma Wright-Bryant Brown.  She graduate from Fairmont Heights High School-Prince George's County, Maryland where she was on the cheerleading squad.  She had a beautiful voice and sang in her church's choir, and later joined the well-known gospel Kenneth Louis and Phase I.

She received her undergraduate degree from Greensboro College in 1983 with a Bachelor of Arts in Speech and Drama with a minor in Religion. She later received her Master's degree from Salem College's M.A.T. program.

Mrs. Mitchell was a devout teacher who had a unique way of loving the children while educating them. She was formerly an elementary teacher at Quality Education Academy and Impact Preparatory Academy. In her church, Agape Faith, she taught 4-5 year olds and worked in the nursery. Mrs. Mitchell loved her children dearly and was very active in their lives and upbringing.

Whether volunteering in her church or in the community, she was always making an impact.  She found joy as a volunteer with the Dream Center of Forsyth County.

Mrs. Mitchell departed this life Friday January 26, 2024 at her residence following a short period of illness.

She was preceded in death by her husband George Leon Mitchell in 2021.

She leaves cherished memories to her three children, George Christopher Mitchell, Derrick Emmanuel Mitchell and Sydney Taylor Mitchell; siblings, Ursalyn Bryant, Patricia Bryant, Reginald (Tony) Bryant all of Prince George's County, Maryland and Aldus Edmons of California; nieces, nephews, a devoted friend Valerie D. Johnson; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law; other relatives and dear friends.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon Saturday February 3, 2024  at Agape Faith Church, 2101 Lewisville Clemmons Rd, Clemmons, NC.
