Obituary

Mr. James Edward "Bo" Bowman Sr. died peacefully at home on September 4,  2020, in Winston Salem, NC at the age of 80.

James is survived by his children Kameko Leon Walls Bowman, James Edward Bowman Jr; Grandchildren, Sharese R. Drummond, James E Bowman III, Sherrie (Anthony) Justiniano, Adriene N. Bowman, Keneen Denzel McGuire, Kameko Leon Walls Jr; 12 great-grandchildren; Best Friend,Thaddeus (Deacon) McCullough and a host of family and friends. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Jean (Thompson)Young, and the Love of his life, his second wife, Willie Mae Walls; and two daughters, Sherrie Bowman Edwards, Constance Lorraine Bowman.

James was born on September 30, 1939, in Winston Salem, NC, and adopted by the Bradley Family. He graduated from Carver High School. After 20 plus years as a carpenter and locksmith at Winston Salem State University, James retired in 2002 as the Supervisor over the
maintenance department. His children remember him as a strong, firm, no-nonsense, driven, and learn from your mistakes' kind of man; he was the rescuer when they got into trouble. James was accomplished at Carpentry and often built furniture for self and family.

He was generous, dedicated, and lovable if you could get past the hard mean exterior. James was an active and dedicated member of the Morning Star Baptist Church in Winston Salem, NC. James had a passion for teaching God's word. He was Sunday School Superintendent of the men and youth throughout his years of service and did prison ministry with other deacons. He was a supporter, either financially or physically, too many
organizations throughout the years.

A Private memorial is scheduled for Saturday, September 19, 2020, at noon at Morning Star Baptist Church 400 Fitch St, Winston-Salem, NC 27107. Pastor Dennis Leach, Sr. will officiate the ceremony. Due to Covid-19, there will be strict social distance rules in place, and face
masks are mandatory throughout the service. Service will be streamed for those unable to attend via Mr. Bowman's granddaughter Sherrie D Justiniano Facebook Page to celebrate James's life. Please send Flowers, cards, donations to Grandaughter Sherrie D. Justiniano
