Obituary

Mr. James Albert Brown, II, aka 'Pete" was born September 23, 1948 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to the late James Albert Sr. and Helen Pate Brown.  He was a 1966 graduate of Atkins High School, a veteran of the United States Air Force, and a member of the American Legion Post #128.  Fraternally, he was a member of Bivouac Lodge #503 PHA. Pet retired from IBM after 30 years of service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry A. Brown and Leonard A. Brown; and a devoted aunt, Hilda Nelson. He departed this life Sunday, October 6, 2019 at his residence.

Surviving are his four children: Dr. Tammy Brown Allen of Alta Loma, CA, James A. Brown, III of Charlotte, NC, Leonard M. Brown of Fresno, CA, and Tara Daniels, of Miami, FL; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother, Donald (Alice) Brown of Rural Hall, NC; one uncle, Charles Pate of Philadelphia, PA; devoted friends, Reginald Smith and Willie Ingram; and a host of  other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Monday, October 14, 2019 in the chapel of Hooper Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00pm-1:00pm Monday at the funeral home.
