Mr. James Carnell Hairston Jr. was born October 19, 1946 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to the late James and Pearliemae Hunter Hairston Sr. He attended the Greensboro City Schools and was a graduate of Dudley High School.

Mr. Hairston was an employee of Industries for the Blind.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Patricia Hairston and a son Donald Ingram. He departed this life Wednesday December 13, 2023 at his home.

He is survived by his wife of the home, Purdies Ingram Hairston; one daughter, Linda Jordan of Baltimore, MD; one son, Ronald Ingram and special friend, Hope; four grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am  Thursday December 28, 2023 in the chapel of Hooper Funeral Home. His remains may be viewed Wednesday December 27, 2023 from 12pm-6pm at the funeral home.
