Mr. James Jones Jr., 73, was born February 25, 1952 in Spartanburg, South Carolina to the late Carl Gore Jr. and Thelma Jones Gore.

He was a graduate of Atkins High School where he excelled in football.  James worked for the City of Winston-Salem in the Utilities Department.

He was veteran of the United States Army Reserve.

Spiritually, he was an active member of Eastside Church of Christ for over 30 years

He was an avid Detroit Lions fans. He also loved watching the old black and white Westerns. He acted as though he was an employee at the Piedmont Dialysis Center where he was actually a patient.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bridgetta Capers Jones.   He departed this life Wednesday December 17, 2025 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center

He leaves cherished memories to his mother, Thelma Gore; his children, Xanthius, Marquis(Shanita), Mayletta Wilson, and Yurkoiy Williams(Qyesha); stepkids, Crystal, Ricco, Monte` Capers and Fanay Hauser; sisters, Mary (Sam) Thompson, Valerie and Carol Gore; a host of grandkids; great grandkids, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He will be missed by all that knew him and all that came in contact with him.

A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday December 27, 2025 at Eastside Church of Christ. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm-1:00 pm at the church.
