Obituary

Janie Mae Williams Brown was born July 29, 1947 to Joseph Sr. and Elizabeth Robinson Williams in Darlington, South Carolina. She attended the Darlington county public schools. Most of her life she lived in Winston-Salem and was a retiree of  Thomasville Furniture with over 30 years of service.

Spiritually, she was a devoted and faithful member of the Eastside Church of Christ

In her spare time Janie  loved to sew as well as gardening. She had a green thumb when it came to her plants. She loved her North Carolina and South Carolina  family dearly as well as her church family.

Preceding her in death were her parents; son, Herbert Brown; two brothers, Joseph Williams, Jr. and Lyndell Williams; one sister, Betty Johnson.

Ms. Brown departed this life Wednesday July 2, 2025 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center following a period of illness.

She leaves cherished memories to her daugther Joyce Brown ; three grandchildren, Paul Brown, Jacquia Brown and Tanisha Herron all of Winston-Salem; six great grandchildren and bonus great grandchildren; six siblings, Martha Reynolds, McArthur Williams, Judy Pratt, Christine Williams, Randolph Williamas and Elvira Robinson; two aunts, Ruth Baker and Betty Mae Robinson; sister-in-law, Loletta Williams; devoted friends, Blanche Lee and Marion Dalton; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am Friday July 11, 2025 at Eastside Church of Christ. The family will receive friends from 11:00am-11:30am at the church on Friday. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Park.
