Obituary

Ms. Jeanette Francis Norris, affectionately known by many as "Puddin," was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, on March 29, 1958.  She entered eternal rest on April 21, 2026.

Jeanette attended Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools and was a proud graduate of North Forsyth Senior High School, Class of 1976. She later furthered her education at Forsyth Technical Community College, where she completed a program of study in Unit Secretary administration.

Jeanette was known for her strong work ethic and dedication, spending her career serving the city she knew and loved. She began her professional journey at the Credit Bureau of Winston-Salem before transitioning to Western Electric, where she flourished and remained through its transition into AT&T. After many years of service, she continued her career with the Winston-Salem Transit Authority, where she fulfilled her passion for helping others and built lasting relationships along the way. Although her career ended unexpectedly following her transition in life as an amputee, she persevered with strength and resilience, continuing to be the devoted mother, grandmother, and friend so many cherished.

Jeanette was a devoted woman of God, known for her wit, adaptability, discipline, and unwavering love. A deeply spiritual woman, she carried herself with honesty, strength, and compassion, and showed her kindness through her steadfast care and support for others. Regarded as a mother figure to many, she took great pride in caring for and supporting her family and friends. Among her greatest joys was the bond she shared with her beloved dog, Caprice, her devoted companion and best friend of over 12 years, who preceded her in passing. Jeanette also found joy in life's simple pleasures, from trips to the casino with her sister Niecy to evenings spent playing bingo or card games with loved ones. A true fighter, she met life's challenges with courage and grace. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She was preceded  in death by her mother, Jennie Mae Linville and son, Demario L. Norris
