Jeffrey Kenard
Hunter
Jan 6, 1963 — Dec 25, 2023
Jeffrey Kenard Hunter graced this world with his presence on January 6, 1963 as the third child of Ulysses Hunter Sr. and Nancy Hunter. In true Capricorn fashion Jeffrey was ambitious, hardworking, loyal and stubborn but most of all Jeffrey loved his family. Jeffrey departed this life on Christmas Day, 2023. Jeffrey was educated in the Winston Salem Forsyth County Public School System and graduated from East Forsyth Senior High School in 1981. At East Forsyth he was a member of the football team and in a variety of school clubs and organizations. After high school he matriculated to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, obtaining a B.A. of Business Administration. While at UNCC he became a member Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated through the Zeta Delta Chapter, one of the proudest moments of his life.
Jeffrey's professional life allowed him to utilize his talents for sales, leadership and team building at several major companies including American Express and Truist Bank. For many years he followed in his father's footsteps and volunteered with the Tiny Indians football program in Winston Salem, a team he played for when he was a boy. As a tribute to his loving wife, Renee Hunter, he also supported the work done by various breast cancer organizations in the area.
In 1990, Jeffrey met the love of his life, Renee Hunter, in Baltimore Maryland. Renee and Jeffrey loved each other and together they had an unbreakable bond. Jeffrey and Renee were married on September 5, 1996 and shared twenty-one years of marriage before Renee's passing in March 2018.
Jeffrey was preceded in death by his wife Renee Hunter and his father Ulysses Hunter, Sr. He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Nancy Hunter, daughters, Jessica Hunter, Taneesha Dangerfield and son Joshua Jefferson; grandchildren Kevon Bannerman, Morgan Hunter, Kaila Dangerfield, Keon Stewart and Keshawn Stewart; siblings Pamela Hunter, Ulysses Hunter Jr. and Donna (Chris) Eaton, and his very special niece, Nykhia Hunter, along with a large, loving family of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins, whom he cherished.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday January 13, 2024 at Saint Andrews United Methodist Church. Family visitation will be from 12:00-12:30pm and services beginning at 12:30pm.
