Mr. Jerome Jones was a born August 17, 1941 in Lake City, South Carolina to the late Gladys Jones. He attended the public schools. Upon moving to Winston-Salem, he became employed by R.J. Reynolds Tobacco company where he retired after 30 years of service.

In the community he was a member of the Sophisticated Gents Club. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his wife Ruby Jones and sister Bertha Clark.

He departed this life Monday January 10, 2022 at his residence.

Survivors include two sons, Roger (Janice) Jones of Winston-Salem, NC, Kenneth (Cassandra) Jones of Newport News, VA; grandchildren, Shawntea Jones. Shamira (Brice) Gates, Kenneth Jones, Jr., Jahmal Muhfooth, Nashaye Passamante, Roger Jones, Jr. and Shanaye Dalton-Galloway(Franklin); a host of great grandchildren; sister, Frenchie York of Florence, SC; an uncle and aunt who raised him, Leroy (Virginia) Eady; a host of other relatives and friends including devoted cousins Betty Gathers and Gloria Gathers.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm Sunday January 30, 2022 in the chapel of Hooper Funeral Home.
