Jimmie Lee Tyson was born November 26, 1955 to Clara Lee Ellis Tyson and Zebedee Tyson in Wayne County, North Carolina

On January 31, 2022 Jimmie departed this earthly life to gain eternal rest. He answered the eternal summons at the Heritage Care Center in Hickory, North Carolina.

Jimmie spent his formative life in Sims, North Carolina and he received his formal education in the Wilson County Public School system graduating from Rock Ridge High School. Jimmie also had the joy of driving school buses.  Jimmie also gained employment of working on the farm which he really enjoyed so dearly. Jimmie loved playing cards and shooting pool with his buddies. Jimmie didn't meet no strangers. His love and affection will be missed deeply not only by his family but all who knew and loved him.

Preceding Jimmie in death were his parents, Clara Lee   Ellis Tyson and Zebedee Tyson; one daughter, Denise Anderson; one brother Charles R. Ellis; three nephews, James Tyson Sr., Jessie Hinnant and Raymond Adams.

Jimmie will forever be remembered by one brother. James Tyson Sr.(Barbara) of Greenville, NC; three sisters, Doris Barnes Davis, Julia White(Henry) all of Wilson, North Carolina and Gwendolyn Adams(friend, Michael Edwards) of Kinston, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, and special children that he had the honor of raising, Cedric Anderson and Kevin Anderson.

A memorial service will be held at 12 noon Saturday March 26, 2022 at Wilson First Pentecostal Holiness Church, Wilson, North Carolina
