She answered Gods call on October 30, 202l.  Joann Byrd Roundtree 66, known to many as Ma or Aunt Jo was born
on June 30,1955 in Winston-Salem, NC to Frank and Doris Byrd.  She Attended Winston Salem Forsyth County public schools. Joann
was employed by North Carolina Baptist hospital, the Winston Salem Forsyth County school system, and she retired from Wake Forest uni-
versity. Joann was full of life. She was dedicated to her family and friends which she loved dearly. She enjoyed trips to the Dollar Tree
(her favorite store) with her son and grandchildren. She had a passion for decorating and loved celebrating each and every special occasion.

Now that Joann's work here on earth is completed, she can be greeted by those who have gone on before her. Her husband Donald Ray
Roundtree, Father Frank Byrd, Mother Doris Helen Byrd McCorey, and her Sisters Olivia and Constance Byrd.

She leaves to cherish her memories her precious children: Daughter Jemika Ann Roundtree (ws, NC); Sons Delano Bennet Byrd (Tasha)
and Jermaine Anthony Roundtree both of (W-S, NC) and her bonus daughter Natonya (Reggie) Brown, (NY); Her grandchildren Denise,
Mashaunda, Jamia, and Jamoria Roundtree, Hahsasah Simmons Jr.; Bonus grandchildren Latoyia Staley (NY), Rameka and Reggie Brown
Jr (NY); Great-Grandchildren Conner-Graycen Colon, and Aspen Wisdom (NY); Nephews Michael and Jesse Byrd; Nieces Carla, Car-
men, and Johnetta Byrd and Mikeya and Marshea Dunbar; Great Nephews Chris Byrd, Catrell Sligh, and Jace D Byrd; Great Nieces
Mickia, C'ona, and Serenity Byrd; A loving Daughter-in-law Rhoshanda Roundtree; Her Brothers-in-law Rodney Roundtree (WS,
NC); and Fredrick Roundtree (PA); Sister-in-law Karen Roundree and her devoted Sister-in-law Deborah Roundtree who was there for her
the whole time; Her Best friend Hope Goolsby, Her friends Robert Jordan and Willette Crockett Brown.(Wilma). Cousins Lysa and Mar-
cus Jackson, and Gerber and Rick Galloway. God-daughter Brandi Frasier; Extended Family the Crockett and Harris family and a host of

joann Byrd Roundtree departed this life Saturday October 30, 2021 at her residence. Funeral services will be held Saturday November 6, 2021 at 12:00 pm in the chapel of Hooper Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 11:30am-12:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
