Obituary

Mr. John Henry Booker was born July 15, 1922 in Thurmond, West Virginia to the late John Henry and Eleanor Anderson Booker. He attended the public schools there in West Virginia. Mr. Booker served in the Merchant Marines. He resided in Charlotte, North Carolina before moving to Winston-Salem, NC with his daughters. While in Charlotte, he was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop Designet John Walker and co-pastor Rosie Walker. After moving to Winston-Salem, he became a member of Ministry of Fullness Word Of Faith under the leadership of Apostle Olivia Allen and Elder Rodrick Allen.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Booker and siblings. He departed this life Wednesday May 6, 2020 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.

Surviving are three daughters, Clara Williams, Cheryl Miller both of Winston-Salem, NC and Carolyn McKnight of Sumter, SC; five grandchildren, Gregory Miller, Elreeso Sean Miller, Lejuana Alford, Kamaka Cohen and Windell J. McKnight Jr.; six great grandchildren;  sister, Rita English; a brother; special friends, Deacon Jerry Black, Dorothy Ellis, Evangelist Elaine Little and Evangelist Bessie Terrence; a host of other relatives and dear friends.

A memorial service will be held at later date .
