Obituary

Deacon Johnny Donnell Pass departed this life on Sunday, June 20, 2021, surrounded by family and friends at his home in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.  He was born on March 4, 1981, in Rockingham County, North Carolina.

Johnny was a dedicated and faithful member of the Bluestone Missionary Baptist Church (BMBC) for many years.  He was the youngest Deacon ever ordained at the Bluestone Missionary Baptist Church.  He served as the musician for Praise Teams and Choirs.  He was member of the Mass Choir, Male Chorus, Gospel Choir, and Adult Praise Team.  He was instrumental in the upkeep of the church computer systems.  He also served as Teen VBS Teacher, a member of the Finance Committee, and Program Ministry.

He will be most remembered as the Youth Director.  He loved the kids with a willing heart, and he spared no expense to make sure they were taking care of.  He volunteered many hours tutoring, feeding, mentoring, and counseling the youth.  It could be easily said that he was a "Jack of All Trades" he functioned in some capacity in all the church auxiliaries because of his kind and willing spirit, he never said no to anyone that needed his help.

He served as musician for the Shiloh Baptist Church.  He then served at Grace Kingdom Life Church until his health declined.

Over the years, he was employed as a Reidsville Middle School Teacher and Reidsville Score Center Teacher (Alternative School).  He was employed with the Industries of the Blind and American Express both located in Greensboro, North Carolina.  But he was famously known as the "Tax Man".  He was the CEO and Founder of Tax'ABLE' Financial Enterprises, Inc. located in Reidsville, North Carolina until his death.

Waiting to help welcome him to his heavenly home, where pain and suffering cease to exist, is his beloved grandmother, Lucy P. Lane.

Johnny leaves to cherish his life, legacy, love and laughter: his beloved wife of the home, Cheryl "Cherry" Pass; his bonus daughter of the home, Ragine C. Verene; his parents, mother, W. Darnese Pass and father, John Galloway Graves; his brothers, Michael A. Pass, Marcus C. Pass, Sr., Torrance Williamson, Jarriett Mitchell, Jonathan Ross, and Jamal Williams; his sisters, Laurel Wilson and Nene Price; his aunts, Sharon "Annette" Pass Wheeler (James) and Crystal Slade; his uncles, Larry D. Pass (Verna) and Harvey Slade; special nieces and nephews, Makinzley Pass-Wheeler, Marcus C. Pass, Jr., and Markese C. Pass; a God-sister, Laray Totten Sheffield; a dedicated cousin, Shakaia S. Neal; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held 12 noon Friday, June 25, 2021 in Hooper Funeral Home chapel with family visitation preceding at 11:30am. Interment: Greenview Cemetery, Reidsville, NC.
