Jonathan Latel Smith was born to the late George and Leona Smith on February 14, 1981 in Winter Garden, FL.

He attended Evans High School and graduated from Britton Academy in 2018. Jonathan lived in Florida most of his life and moved to Winston Salem in 2016. He worked at Post Consumer Brands from 2016-2021 and was most recently employed by Pepsi Bottling Company.

Jonathan married Nysheika Smith March 21, 2018 and to this union, he was blessed with six children. He was a loving and devoted husband and father.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Renita Smith.

Jonathan leaves to cherish loving memories his wife, Nysheika Reeves Smith; his children, Kiara, Justice, Jonathan, Jr. "Pudge", Jo'nnasha, Savion, and Zakiya; grandchildren, Jakri, Jalayah, Jonathan, III, Jaliyah, Keihlahi, Cyleste, Azilyah, Justice, Jr., Chase, and Charles, III; his sisters, Lolita Smith, Samantha Byers, and Elysse Greenwood; brothers, Dwayne Smith, Larry Smith, Nikos Smith, Barry You and Christopher McBride; godsister and godbrother, Shante and Earl Burgam; several aunts, Tonya, Denise, Karen, and Joann; uncles, Ron, Herbert, Mike, Greg, Everette, and  a devoted uncle, Barry McBride; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, friends, and co-workers.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, September 25, 2025 in the chapel of Hooper Funeral Home.
