Joseph Lenard Pennington passed away on April 17, 2025 after an extended illness. He was born to the late Joseph Cephrian Pennington and Sandra Pennington. A graduate of Mount Tabor High School and the University of North Carolina, Charlotte, he pursued a career in social work as a counselor until his health declined.

A life member of Saints Home United Methodist, he remained active with the United Methodist Men. Cherishing his memory is his mother, Sandra Pennington Hampton (Willie), daughter, Aubrian Tuttle (Brock), son, Joseph T. Pennington, grandson, Kai Tuttle, sisters, Velva Pennington and Valencia Pennington; and a host of devoted cousins, aunts, uncles and close friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 17, 12:30 pm at Saints Home United Methodist, 1390 Thurmond Street, Winston-Salem. The family can be reached at 2035 K Court Avenue, Winston-Salem, NC 27105.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations in his memory to the Children's Ministries at Saints Home United Methodist Church.
