Kenneth Denard Timmons, affectionately known to his family and friends as "Kenny" or "KT" was born on March 13, 1955 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to the late John Lewis Timmons, Sr., and Dorothy P. Timmons. He attended Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools before joining the United States Navy. While in the military he earned his GED and was honorably discharged after defending our country for two terms. Kenneth was employed by the City of Winston-Salem for many years as a groundskeeper.

He was a member of Rising Ebenezer Baptist Church where he attended regularly before the COVID pandemic and health issues.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, John Lewis Timmons, Jr., Carlton L. Timmons, and sister Traci L. Timmons.

Mr. Timmons departed this life Sunday July 30, 2023 at his residence.

Kenneth is survived by two sons, Antoine D. Allen, and Jerry Allen; two sisters, Altha Timmons and Carolyn Dixon; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday August 12, 2023 in the chapel of Hooper Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm-2:00 pm at the funeral home on Saturday. His remains may be viewed from 12pm-6pm Friday August 11, 2023 at the funeral home.

Interment will be held at a later date at the Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury, North Carolina where he will receive  Naval Military Rites.
