Kenya L. Blair born January 12, 1994, to Shirley Blair and Harold Winningham Jr.

She was our beloved daughter, granddaughter, niece, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She completed her undergraduate studies at Winston Salem State University where she pledged with the fine chapter Zeta Phi Beta sorority. She then received her master's degree in Education at the University Of North Carolina at Charlotte. Kenya dedicated her last few years of her life to helping guide young minds as a respected enthusiastic high school counselor for Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools.

Kenya will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving, carefree young women that can make anyone laugh in any situation. She was dedicated to her family and friends, while also living life to the fullest and never being scared to step out on faith and take a risk.

Kenya was called home to be with the Lord peacefully on January 12, 2023.

She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Leo Sutton Blair, and Mildred Archie, paternal uncle and aunt, John and Martha Richardson.

She is survived by mother, Shirley Blair, father, Harold Winningham Jr., stepfather, Randy Barnette, brother, Kenard Blair Sr., Barnette sisters and brothers, grandparents; Harold Winningham Sr., Shelia Winningham, and Linda Barnette, uncles; Reginald Archie, Leonard Blair, Arthur Phinx Jr., aunts; Linda Kay Archie, Sonora Winningham Vaughn, Jacqueline Phinx, devoted aunts, Jonnetta and LaTreika Richardson, devoted cousin, Taneshia Richardson, nephews; Kenard Jr., Kameron, and Kannon, nieces; MaKenna and Erin, host of Richardson and Barnette, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A service in her memory will be held 4:00 pm Saturday January 21, 2023 at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 3pm-4pm at the church.
