Mr. Lawrence Russell Young Jr. was born January 31, 1949 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to the late Lawrence Russell  and Annie Warren Young Sr.  He attended the Winston-Salem Forsyth County public schools. Mr. Young was employed by North Carolina Baptist Hospital until his health failed.

He was an avid lover of the Miami Dolphins and the Duke University basketball team. M r. Young was also a veteran of the United States Army.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Deloris Young; a daughter, Sharon Ross; a sister Elizabeth Young and two grandchildren.

He departed this life Friday October 27, 2023 at his residence.

Mr. Young leaves cherished memories to his children: Minister Russell (Soroyal) Sinclair, Monique Brown, LaSette Johnson, Alfonso Tatum, Demetrice (Roy) Evans, Liltrice (Carl) Harris, LaTonya Cuthbertson, LaShanda (Kori) Price, William(Jonathan) Young; a host of grandchildren; brother Johnny Tucker; two sisters, Deborah Johnson and Sharon Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday November 4, 2023 in the chapel of Hooper Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm-1:00 pm Saturday.  His remains may be viewed Friday November 3, 2023 from 1pm-6pm at the funeral home.
