Leonard Dewayne Rickard, 31, known as "Nard" was born on August 21, 1988 in Winston Salem, NC to Charlene Rickard and the late Ira "Lyn" Watkins. He departed life unexpectedly on Sunday, January 5, 2020. Nard was a graduate of East Forsyth High School and a former employee of Collins Aerospace.

Nard was a devoted son, nephew, cousin, father, and friend. His passion in life was music; giving back to the community, feeding the homeless, community services; and a die-hard NFL Indianapolis Colts fan. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his father, Nard was preceded in death by his grandmother Vicki M. Rickard, grandfather Charles Rickard Sr., and great-grandmother Dorothy A. Aldridge.

Nard is survived by his mother, his children, Angel Rickard, Jazariah Gist, Sean Rickard, Vicki E. Rickard, Leonard Rickard Jr.; his grandmother, Mary Mitchell; his three aunts, Charlotte Rickard, Debbie Watkins, and Meka Smith; his four uncles, Charles Rickard Jr., Christopher Smith, James Watkins, and Ivory Smith; eight 1 ^st -cousins consider siblings, LaTasha Bradley, Brittney (Marvin) McDermott, Charles R.(Christa) Rickard, Latoya Rickard, Eric Rickard, Cedric Payne Jr., Victor Rickard, and Charez Rickard. A host of other cousins and dedicated family members, friends, including his best friend Medgar Thompson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday January 18, 2020 in the  chapel of Hooper Funeral Home with Pastor Justin L. Cobbs officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
