On Wednesday, the 8th day of December 2021 a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend departed this life. Leonardo Stephens, aka"Pearl", a veteran of the US Army, was born on September 11, 1957 to the late Rose Lee Stephens and Sam George.

He loved fishing, watching basketball, and football. His favorite teams were the Minnesota Vikings and the San Antonio Spurs. He enjoyed watching the news every morning and he loved watching Western tv shows. He was an avid cook and considered himself "Chef Leonardo." His favorite color was blue. Leonardo was an outspoken man with a lot of personality. He will be truly missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his devoted brother, Rondell Stephens and nephew, Melvin Brunt, Jr.

Leonardo is survived by his three children, Letrice Stephens, Linwood Stephens, and Leonardo Stephens, and two bonus children, Lamuel Moody, and Charlene Cole; seven grandchildren, Ta'Kiah Stephens, Ka'Niya B. Stephens, Fah'Deja B. Stephens, Ja'Leyah Stephens, Linwood Stephens, Jr. Joshua Cole and Felecia Patrick; brother, William "Lawrence" Stephens; sisters, Rosa (Sherman) Funderburk, Sharon, Audrey, Angela and Trina Stephens. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and the mother of his children, Felicia Moody.

Funeral services will be held 11:00AM Saturday December 18, 2021 in the chapel of Hooper Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends from 10:30am-11:00am at the funeral Home.
