Obituary

Linda Kay Jones McGill was born December 7, 1948 to the late Charlie and Edna Jones. She was called home on Saturday December 23, 2023. She was a woman of great strength and resilience. Preceding her in death was her beloved superstar husband Rozelle McGill Sr.; her siblings, Curtis and Michael Jones, Charlie Reynolds, Jimmy and Maria Harroway; grandmother, Annabell Peterson; stepdaughters, Vera McGill Williams, Dorothy McGill; son-in-law Patrick Horne.

Her days were spent as a cafeteria manger for the Winston-Salem Forsyth County school system where she nourished young minds and hearts for 23 years. Her dedication to ensuring summer feeding programs were well-managed and earned the gratitude of many.

Linda will be deeply missed by all who knew her, She was a radiant star, blazing with life's energy. Her legacy of kindness, love, and dedication will live on through her children and grandchildren and all those whose lives she touched.

She leaves cherished memories to her daughters, Christan L. McGill(Roosevelt) Wayne, Tanicia D. Jones(Patrick) Horne, Rozelle Jr. David (Patricia) McGill, Patricia McGill, Pearlie McGill and Carria Bell McGill; her siblings, Christine D. Jones and Marcia D. Jones; sister-in-law, Janice "Cherry' Jones; her grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 11:30 am Friday January 5, 2024 at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am-11:30 am at the church. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens.
