Mrs. Linda Jean Williams Nance was born to the late Henry Isaac Williams and Daisy Ree Howell Williams in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, on August 23, 1958.
She attended the public schools of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County and graduated from R. J. Reynolds High School in 1978. Linda would go on to enjoy a 30+ year career as an educator. She worked for many years at St. Phillips Childcare Center before transitioning to a role as a Teaching Assistant at Carter Vocational High School. During her career she completed college at Forsyth Technical Community College in 2017 where she earned an associates degree in Early Childhood Education.
Mrs. Nance was a member of Greater Cleveland Avenue Christian Church (now Greater Church) where she sang with the Gospel Choir. She was described as a kind, humble, and passionate Christian woman with an appreciation for nature, who loved to dance, and a love for children.
She passed away at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem on Tuesday, October 4, 2022. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Ann Williams Nichols.
Those family members who survive and will forever cherish loving memories of her include her husband, Terron Nance, her children, Michelle and DeVaughn(Taylor) Nance, one granddaughter, Melody Joanna Torres, her father and mother-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Houston Nance, one sister, Joyce Marie Williams, three brothers, David (Gloria) Williams, Kenneth (Hattie) Owens, and Henry (Malinda) Williams; The Williams and Nance Families; several nieces, nephews, extended family members and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30pm Saturday October 15, 2022 at the Greater Church, 3300 Reynolda Road Winston-Salem, NC. The family will receive friends from 12pm-12:30pm at the church. Interment will be held Tuesday October 18, 2022 at the Salisbury National Cemetery.
