Mrs. Lynda Mackins Johnson, 80, was born November 24, 1943 to Roberta Mackins Cohn and the late Hubert Peoples. She departed this life Saturday, May 18, 2024.

A lifelong resident of the city, she was a 50 year member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church. She attended WSSU, was a retiree of Tyco, and also worked for the WSFC public schools.

In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her husband James "Babe" Johnson.

Surviving are her mother, Roberta Cohn; two brothers, Billy Mackins (Doris) and Kenneth Mackins; two aunts, Mrs. Joan Little and Mrs. Remona Banner; a Goddaughter, Kayla Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.

Family visitation will be held 12:30pm Saturday, May 25, 2024 in Hooper Funeral Home chapel with the funeral service following at 1pm. Interment: Evergreen Cemetery.
