Obituary

Mabel Scott Dixon, daughter of the late Leonard and Lucy Scott was born on April 28, 1920 in Forsyth County. She entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Novant Forsyth Medical Center.

She graduated from Atkins High School, Class of 1939. She was employed by RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company, Factory # 8 for 35 years. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling, gardening, helping neighbors and enjoying her family.

Mabel was married to the Hubert W. Dixon. She was a mother to all her nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly. She was a faithful member of Solid Rock Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and her church family and enjoyed her worship experiences.

On her 100th birthday, Mable and her twin, Hazel were honored by a parade featuring family, friends and city officials.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, seven sisters and two brothers. Left to cherish her memories are; her twin sister, Hazel S. Hollingsworth; grandson Micheal (Jennifer) Jenkins; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, neighbors and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials maybe made to Solid Rock Baptist Church, 3010 Carver School Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27105.

A special thanks to Dr. Chung and his staff at Novant Forsyth Medical Center.

Private graveside services will be held. A public viewing will be held Friday January 1, 2021 from 12pm-6pm
