Mable Watts Glenn was born to the late Alberta Finch Watts and the late Joe Watts in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on November 27, 1921.

Throughout her long and productive life, she showed a strong determination to become self-sufficient and furthered her education, earning her General Education Diploma in her fifties.

Her work history included brief custodial positions at RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company and Wachovia Bank and Trust Company. She later took a position with the Forsyth County Health Department where she was a committed lab technician for several years prior to her retirement from Forsyth County.

Mable Watts married the late Willie Glenn in 1939. Their marriage was blessed with the birth of four children, and they were married for fifty-six years prior to his death in 1995.

She exercised the tenets of her faith as a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church for more than eighty-five years and she was a faithful member of the Sunday School, The Esther Missionary Group and The Flower Club.

She was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves Baseball Team and traveled to Atlanta, Ga. with friends each year to see the Braves play. She was the longest homeowner and resident of her East Winston Community.

Mable Watts Glenn, the wise, 104-year-old centenarian, peacefully passed away at her home in Winston-Salem, on Friday, July 10, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, James Glenn; two grandchildren, Marvin Lindsay and Karen Lindsay; and four siblings, Lossie M. Watts, Otis Watts, Porter Watts and Billy Watts.

Those family members who survive and who will always remember, cherish and benefit from her legacy of wisdom which she generously shared, the endurance she demonstrated and the beautiful life that she lived include her children, Willie Glenn, Jr., Joanne Glenn Lindsay and Barbara Glenn France; daughter-in-law, Eulalia Glenn; son-in-law, Bobby France; twelve grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

 Her remarkable journey will be commemorated with a homegoing celebration at 1:00 PM on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Mount Zion Baptist Church, where family and friends are invited to gather and pay their respects from 12:30 PM. She will be laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery.
