Obituary

Mable Ford Simpson affectionately known as “Foot”, born April 19, 1951 in Hallsboro NC to the late Brooks W. Ford and Ruth G. Ford. She departed this life unexpectedly on July 7, 2026.

Mable was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grand mother, sister and sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend.

Mable grew up in the Winston-Salem community where she attended Atkins High School. She didn’t have many hobbies but she loved to sing and most of all she loved to cook. Many of her years were working in the restaurant business around Winston-Salem and where her job ended was with Arcadia Grill.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her grandson Tony Younger II, four sisters Ann, Louise, Evelyn, Katie and Inez and one brother Thomas and beloved sister-in-law Diane Brady.

She leaves to cherish her memory: Devoted husband Joseph L. Simpson III, Daughters Pamela (Tulsa) Scales of W-S, Denise Clark of The Gambia WC Africa. Grand children Brittany Reaves of Tampa FL, Timarceus Younger of W-S, Ashanna, Gianna and Nabraska Clark of Orlando FL. Great-grandson Robert Titus Gilbert of W-S. Two brothers Eddie Ford (Carolyn) of Winston Salem, Donnie Ford of W-S. Two sister-in- laws Patricia Hicks of Greensboro NC, Pamela (Myron) Lewis of Las Vegas NV. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday July 18, 2026 in the chapel of Hooper Funeral Home The family will receive friends from 11:30am-12pm at the funeral home.
