Maggie Alice Joyner was called home Thursday January 30, 2020 at Tranquility Care of Winston-Salem where she lived. She was born October 23, 1944 in Newberry, South Carolina to the parents of John and Lillian Rickard. She attended the Winston-Salem Forsyth County public schools. Maggie worked at Cleaner World Cleaners for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband Curtis Joyner; three sisters, Eva Peterson, Brenda Jones, Gloria Rickard; two brothers, George and Charles Rickard.

She is survived by her brother Walther Rickard; sister, Veronica Rickard; a very special and devoted niece Evon Wingate; two devoted great nephews, Antwone "Tickle britches" and Antonio Rickard; one devoted great niece Kiwana Keller; and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 pm Saturday February 15, 2020 in the chapel of Hooper Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm-1:30 pm at the funeral home.
