Marcellus Liles Starks, 53, affectionately known as "Necie", departed this life on Friday August 13, 2021.  She was born to Constance Miller and Willie Liles, Jr. (deceased) on May 2, 1968.

Marcellus was a graduate of Mount Tabor High School in Winston-Salem, NC.  After high school graduation she pursued a career in Cosmetology and worked as a hair stylist for many years.  She was also employed at  Step One  in Human Services and  Aids Care Service. She also loved to cook, bake, dance, and spend time with her family. Her beautiful spirit and outgoing personality were a blessing to everyone around her.

Marcellus was preceded in death by her father, Willie Liles, Jr., her aunt, Jean Wellman Hart; and her sister, Mia Anthony-Horne.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted mother, Constance Wellman Miller (Murray) one loving son, Darius Fontenette, three brothers, Maurice Wellman, Gerry Liles and Keith Anthony; one sister, Glynis Dobson (Michael); one  stepbrother,  Murray Miller, Jr (Terri).; one stepsister, Tasha Miller; two uncles, Terrence Wellman (Esther) and Timothy Wellman (Desmalean).  She also leaves to cherish one grandson, Devin Fontenette, whom she adored.

Marcellus was also loved by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Although she is no longer with us here on earth, her memory will remain active in our hearts forever.

The family will receive friends 11am Friday, August  20, 2021 at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church with funeral services following at 12 Noon. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens.
