Margaret  Good Johnson the daughter of Gasaway and Captola Woods Good was born February 2, 1937 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Educated  in the Winston-Salem school system. Margaret graduated from Atkins High School. From there she attended North Carolina Central University where she became a member of the Alpha Chi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. Margaret graduated in 1960 from NCCU with a Business Education degree. She met and married Benjamin Johnson and this union two sons were born, Benjamin Johnson Jr. and Reginald Johnson.

After college Margaret worked at Knoxville College in Knoxville and later at Winston-Salem Teachers College (WSSU). She eventually retired after a long career from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company.

Margaret was an avid walker, routinely walking two miles a day until her health began to decline.  She loved to play cards and was an excellent Bid Whist player. Margaret and her brother Haywood Good could run a "Boston" on you in no time!  Margaret also enjoyed visiting and hanging out with family and friends. She was preceded in death by nine siblings.

Margaret departed this life suddenly on Wednesday June 29, 2022 at Novant Forsyth Medical Center.

Leaving to cherish loving and lasting memories , her sons, Benjamin Johnson Jr. and Reginald (Kristin Becker) Johnson; grandson, Jacy; sister, Elizabeth Good; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12pm Friday July 8, 2022 in the chapel of Hooper Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 11:30am-12:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens.

In honor of Margaret's favorite color, we welcome you to wear "green" to the funeral services on Friday.
