Mary Alice Anthony Boulware was born June 23, 1938 in Mocksville, NC and transitioned on May 30, 2021 to be with her heavenly father. Mary was preceded in death by her parents
James and Margaret Anthony, brothers Paul, Donald, William, James, and her beloved grandson Jaquan Rodman.
Mary received her education in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System. She worked for over 40 years in the hospitality industry until her retirement.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to James E. Boulware on February 22, 1992.
Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She enjoyed many activities in life especially spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Some of her favorite pastimes were solving word search puzzles, watching soap operas, wrestling and cooking for her family. Her favorite color was purple, which means royalty.
She was and will always be the queen in our hearts forever.
Mary leaves to cherish her beautiful memories to James her loving husband of 29 years, four wonderful and devoted daughters Sharon (John) Williams, Annette (Tommy) Davis, Patricia (Anthony) Williams, Teresa Penn and two step children Darryl Finney and Karen Finney. Eight grandchildren; Sherman Watlington, Jasmine Anthony, Jalisa (Marquise) Thompson, Lakisha Mauney, Bre'Anna Williams, AJ Williams, Shanair (Brandon) Broadnax and Jermaine Rodman.
Eleven great-grandchildren; Audrianna Watlington, Jeremiah Shaw, Charles Shaw, Lamont Shaw, Josiah Thompson, Lauryn Gaddy, Zariah Broadnax, Amir Broadnax, Jeremiah Rodman, Elijah Carter and Sanaa Rodman.
Her siblings; Martha Ray, Joseph (Anneice) Anthony, Barbara Frost, Gerald (Treva) Anthony, Reginald (Tanya) Anthony, Christopher (Willette) Anthony, and Mary Anthony. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family would like to extend a special THANK YOU to her granddaughter Shanair Broadnax for all her love, prayers, support and nurturing during her health journey.
A public viewing will be held Thursday June 3, 2021 from 12pm-6pm at Hooper Funeral Home. Funeral services will be private. Interment: Piedmont Memorial Gardens.
