Mrs. Mary D. Holmes was born April 6, 1928 to the late Henry and Margaret Fisher Davis.  She was a lifelong resident of Winston-Salem. Mrs. Holmes was a very long term employee of the Cramer Family. She also earned her cosmetology license from La-Mae Beauty College.  She was a devoted member and officer of  Theta Nu Sigma National Sorority. Spiritually she was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church.

Mrs. Holmes was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Holmes; four brothers; and three sisters. She departed this life Tuesday March 26, 2024 at her home.

She is survived by a devoted niece, Jean Shoaf; a devoted great nephew, Kevin Shoaf; a great great niece, Aniya Gabriel; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday April 3, 2024 at New Bethel Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 10:30  am-11:00 am at the church.
