Mrs. Mattie Roberts Richardson, 95, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 14, 2023.

Mrs. Richardson was born in Winston-Salem, NC on May 11, 1928, to the late William H. and Alberta O. Roberts and was a graduate of Atkins High School. She and her husband spent most of their adult lives in Detroit, MI where Mattie retired from Saks Fifth Avenue. Upon retirement, they returned to their beloved Winston-Salem. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Mark Isaiah Richardson and one daughter, Alease Louise.

She leaves to mourn her passing two sons, William L. Richardson of Lizella, GA and Marcus Richardson (Olive-Cherie) of Gastonia, NC, four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, and many loving friends and relatives.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Thursday December 21, 2023 at the Carver Road Church of Christ. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11am-12 noon at the church Thursday. Her remains may be viewed Wednesday December 20, 2023 from 12pm-6pm at the funeral home.
