Maxine Meeks, a devoted daughter, mother, sister, aunt, cousin and grandmother was born on November 22, 1947 in Marion, SC.

She gained her wings peacefully on April 22, 2024 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center.

After graduating from Atkins High School, she continued on to build a 30 plus year career of service with Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. In her retirement years, she returned to the workforce as a hostess and waitress at Mayberry Ice Cream Restaurant.

She is preceded in death by her mother Marie Meeks and her father Reverend Sylvanus Clarence Meeks as well as her brothers Tony James and Roscoe Woodbury.

She is survived by her only daughter Ginoise Meeks and her only son Derrick Meeks. Additionally, she leaves to cherish fond memories her 3 grand children Terence Tate Jr, Maya James and Mia James as well as her great grandchildren; her sisters, Deborah Floyd (Gene), Letha Faison and Tina Clifton; her cousin Margaret Briston (Ron); her beloved family friend Terry Clarida; her special daughter Delshanna Stokes-Richardson and special son John Richardson. She also leaves behind her special family Ms. Ruby Tate and Geraldine Hazel and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends 11:30am Monday, April 29th in Hooper Funeral Home chapel with the funeral service following at 12pm.
