Mr. Michael Alexander Mc Dougal was born August 1 , 1962 , in Winston- Salem, North Carolina, to Mrs. Della Mc Dougal and the l ate Hairston Burrell Jr. Michael attended Winston- Salem Forsyth County Schools. He graduated from East Forsyth Senior High School and attended Surry Community College.

Michael, affectionately known to many as " Mac" was a Kingston Greene Community neighbor of 51 years. His walking along the streets will be missed. Michael was a talented " lefty" on the basketball court with athleticism for spending time above the rim. HIs basketball skills earned him a college scholarship. Lake, creek, ocean, surf-- he was an impassioned f i sherman and also loved to grill. " Mac" was also a passionate debater and no doubt...was opinionated but still good spirited. He had a tremendous recall for significant dates, events, and people. I f i t was newsworthy... he knew!
Michael was fiercely loyal to his family and friends. He was COOL In him was a lifetime friend. He was the resident care provider to his mother in her later years journey. He was welcoming and warm- hearted to al l v i siting the home. One would only know his presence when he was on the move. Above all, he was his mother' s ROCK and PROTECTOR!
On December 1 7, Michael died peacefully in his sleep at his residence.
H e leaves cherished memories to his mother, Mrs. Della Mc Dougal; two brothers, Calvin Mc Dougal (Portia) and Reginald Mc Dougal (Annette); two sisters, Alice Chestnut (Samuel) and Tanya Mc Dougal; a nephew, Kristopher Mc Dougal; nieces, Jarrad Mc Dougal and Andril Chestnut; great- niece, Imari Abram, great- nephews, Adrian Chestnut and D' Marion Abram; and step- mother, Mrs. Carolyn Burrell.
The viewing will be held on Thursday, December 21, from 12 – 6 p.m., and the funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 22, at Hooper Funeral Home, 1415 E. 14th St, Winston-Salem. Following the funeral, the burial will be held at Piedmont Memorial Gardens, 3663 Piedmont Memorial Drive, Winston-Salem.
