Michael Edmund Smart, 46, departed this life Tuesday April 8, 2025 at Novant Health  Forsyth Medical Center after an unexpected illness.

Michael was born in Winston-Salem, NC the youngest son of  Donald and Dianne Smart. He attended the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools and was a 1996 graduate of Mt. Tabor High School. He continued his education at Forsyth Technical College where he received a diploma in plumbing. He established his own business "No Blade Uncut Residential Lawn Care Services".

Michael enjoyed fishing with family and friends. He got great joy from cooking delicious meals and sharing them online with his friends. He was a very outgoing person and a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan.

He leaves cherished memories to his parents, Donald and Dianne Smart; three children, Irell Little, Me'klel Smart and Makhia Brabham; a granddaughter Nyomi Butler;  brother Brian Smart (Thasha) of Conyers, GA; three aunts, Lois Smart Eikner, Linda Marshall and Denise Singletary (Jerome); nieces, Brianna Smart and Chrisshay Haygood; nephew, Demarco Byrd; special friends, Amber Phillips, Barbara Scott, Mark and Nicole Bell; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Michael was always a giving person and after he took his last breath, three people were blessed by receiving his organ donations.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Friday April 18, 2025 in the chapel of Hooper Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 11:30am-12:00pm at the funeral home Friday. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens.
