Monica Yvette Terry-Schaeffer, M.S., 53, was born July 28, 1969, in Washington, DC to Amanda Donaldson and the late William Terry. She transitioned to her heavenly home peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, August 6, 2022, in Seattle, Washington.
Monica was an extraordinary businesswoman. Her company is MYT Technical Services, where she worked as an Independent Consultant. She was a Senior Instructional Designer/E-Learning Developer for 22 years for various industries and areas around the globe. Her academic and professional career included, Education, Instructional Design, e-learning, Technical Writing, Facilitated Classroom/Virtual Training, and Teaching. She worked for PSCU remotely.
Monica graduated from NC A&T State University, where she received her Master's in Media Education; WSSU, where she received her Bachelor's in Computer Science, and she attended Reynolds High School.
She left memories with her family which includes her devoted husband Dan Schaeffer, Seattle Washington, her loving mother, Amanda Donaldson, her siblings, Michelle (Calvin) Chisom, Montrea (Marthaiel) Grinton, Sr., Michael (Niyokkii) Terry Sr.; nieces Alisha Stephens, Marquisha (Robert) Pettice, Shareka Terry, and Asunta Terry; nephews Michael Terry Jr. and Marthaiel Grinton Jr.; great-nieces, Jurnee Marable, Addison Cheeks, Riley Pettice, Miracle-Legacy Grinton, and Malia Cheeks; great-nephews, Marcus Cheeks Jr. and Mason Pettice. A God-sister, Keonica Martin, God-niece Jalayah Clement, and nephew Nekedrel Tensley. A host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and family friends.
Monica lived an awesome life; she had a beautiful and contagious SMILE. She is known for her wit and dedication. She believed in the wholeness of health, and wellbeing of the body, mind, and spirit. She lived her life to the fullest. She loved her family, especially her nieces and nephews. She had just celebrated her birthday, got recognized for a group global project with her job, and she did a Refuse to Abuse 5K walk/run. She gave to various charities. She was a diehard Carolina Panthers fan. She enjoyed reggae and Bob Marley. She appreciated life with no worries. Monica was the life of the party and gave you a great time.
A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realize how blessed you are for what you have.
