Minister Moniece Crumpton better known as "Nessie" unexpectedly transitioned from this earthly home to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, January 9, 2023 at 1:47 am. Minister Moniece was born in Winston Salem, NC on September 10, 1957 to the late Evelyn and Alphonso Evans. She was raised on Cleveland Avenue where she grew up with family and close friends.
Minister Moniece was a loving woman, she enjoyed spending time with her family and close friends. She was a foster parent for many years to foster kids around North Carolina. She was an employee of North Carolina Baptist hospital for several years as a unit secretary. She also drove school buses for Winston Salem Forsyth County Schools for several years as well.
Minister Moniece was a graduate of Winston Salem Forsyth County Schools. She then attended Barber Scotia College in Concord, NC. She later went on to receive her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Liberty University and her Masters of Science in Psychology from Grand Canyon University. Minister Moniece loved to study the Word, she became an ordained minister in 2017. Moniece was one of the founding members of Reverend L.D. Myrick Prison ministries "New Vision Evangelistic Prison Ministry, Inc." An avid member of Women Empowered Ministries, where she dedicated much of her time to the Midnight Prayer line and several Women's Ministries movements.
Minister Moniece was preceded in death by her parents, Evelyn and Alfonso, her sisters Diane Hough, Nadine Keith, and Charlotte Covington.
She leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Curtis J.E. Hough (Brenda), Clarence B. Crumpton III AKA "Corey", and one daughter Bridgette Hough-Woods. One brother, Ernest Hough and a sister Gloria Evans. 12 grandchildren; Curtis Jr, Jeremiah, Jeniah, Nicola, Heaven, Emeila, Alex, Ecose, Chandler, Jerome Jr, Eve'n and Jakobe. Her fur baby, Snoop Dogg Crumpton; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. One aunt, Barbara Ann Lyons. Devoted cousin, Doris Hairston and devoted friends, Trudy Simpson, Pastor Rosa Tilton, Dr. Jackery Bells, Janie Hopklins, and Janice Kellum, and her loving neighbors at Rankin King Farm.
A service in memory of Moniece will be held 1:00 pm Saturday January 14, 2023 in the chapel of Hooper Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm-1:00 pm at the funeral home Saturday.
There will be no public viewing.
