Na'Shawn Daniel Sanders exchanged his earthly home for his heavenly home on Friday April 16, 2021 at Wake Forest Baptist Health. He was born on December 20, 1988 to Wilbert Earl Carmichael "Pete" and Paulette Elaine Sanders. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mamie Francis Carmichael, Nathaniel Goins, Mary Surls and Paul Durham Sr.
Na'Shawn was a 2007 graduate of R.J. Reynolds High School.
He cherished his family and the countless children that he took under his wing. At anytime, you could find Na'Shawn at the ice cream truck treating all the kids of Piedmont Park to their favorite choices. He had a special love for his nieces and nephews that he was so often a father figure to. He enjoyed shopping, traveling, music and having fun. Wherever he went everyone was always glad to see him. You could count on him to always be present with that unforgettable smile. In addition to being a great person, he often gave of his time and money for community outreach and feeding the homeless. Last but not least, he was extremely business minded with several investments in upcoming/existing companies.
Left to cherish his memories are his parents, Wilbert E. Carmichael, "Pete" and Paulette E. Sanders; his siblings, Brittany Nicole Sanders, Pe'Treese LaShonda Sanders, Sherekia Lavonda Sanders, Hervie Levon Frasier Jr., Lil Josh, Patrina Nicole Bigelow, April Lee Ann Evans, Rehea LaShana Deablo and Peter "Little Peter" Short; he was loved by his aunts and uncles, Joe Carmichael, Eva Lash, Mary Carmichael, Vernita Frasier, Regina Washington, Sharon Chloe and Paul Durham, Jr.; special friends in his life, Beezy (Kierra) Alesia "Lesi", Jamyla Grant, Kenya, Nikki, Jessica McBride, "Ms. Dot" and Shanteisa Caesar; devoted friends, Marcus and Mario; he also cherished a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great aunts, great uncles, and countless friends.
A public viewing will be held Thursday April 22, 2021 from 1pm-6pm at Hooper Funeral Home. Funeral services will be private.
