Mr. Norman Franklin Brown was born to the late Robert and  Ada Settle Brown of Winston-Salem on December 15, 1948. Norman was raised in Winston-Salem, NC.  He attended the historic A.H. Anderson Senior High School and graduated in 1967 where he excelled academically. His intelligence was recognized when he acquired an academic scholarship to Howard University; later graduating from Winston-Salem State University. He was employed as an insurance claims adjuster while living in New York. Norman later returned to his native home Winston-Salem, NC where he was in employed as a security guard at Marriott Hotel.

Norman is known to be a sports enthusiast. As an athlete himself, Norman often put on his coaching hat to younger athletes. He was also a great mentor to many young people around town. Norman is a well-known to give of his time and energy to anyone that needs it. Along, with being a great advocate of social change and justices in and around the city. Norman was a socialite and enjoyed and loved his intimate circle of friends. Norman had a love of music and often showed of his disc jockeying skills.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents Mr. Robert Brown and Mrs. Ada Settle Brown. He departed this life Monday March 15, 2021 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

Norman leaves surviving family, friends and former classmates to cherish his memory. His physical absence will be grieved.

A public viewing will be held Tuesday March 23, 2021 from 12pm-6pm. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be private.
