O'Dell McCaskill, 72, of Baltimore, MD, departed this life on March 12, 2026. He was born on July 20,1953, in Kershaw, SC to Ralph McCaskill and Mamie Lou Chase.

O'Dell McCaskill was known for his kindness and humble spirit. He graduated from high school in 1973 and attended Houston Woods Vocational School in Baltimore, MD. He was a varsity basketball player and pursued a career as a barber. O'Dell was a well-known barber for 25 years in the Dolfield neighborhood of Baltimore. In 1985, he married Inga Townsend. There were no children from this union. He was an avid R&B music lover and spent hours enjoying music. He also loved DJing, spinning the wheels of steel with his friend Gregory Anderson, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his father, Ralph McCaskill and stepfather, Howard Chase.

In addition to his mother, Mamie Chase, he is survived by family members; Tyease McCaskill and Cory McCaskill,Tyrek Stevenson, Darien Stevenson, Nigel Freeman, Asya Stevenson, Journei Sawyer, Nakeem Freeman, Cori McCaskill, Chaynce McCaskill, and Kyrie McCaskill, Crystal Jones-Wilson and a host of other relatives and friends.

O'Dell leaves a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories for his mother, family, and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Friday March 20, 2026 in the chapel of Hooper Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2:30pm-3:00pm Friday at the funeral home.
