Obituary

Mrs. Patricia D. Flowers-Toe, aka "Pat", was born in Ramseur, NC to Risdon and Essie Mae Huntley Flowers on July 4, 1953. She was a resident of Winston Salem, NC where she attended Anderson and Parkland High Schools.

Mrs. Toe worked as a secretary for Wake Forest Medical School (formerly Bowman Gray School of Medicine). She joined the Winston Salem Police Department and served 15 years as a police officer. While employed there she took cosmetology classes and worked as a cosmetologist after leaving the police force. After her stint in the field of cosmetology, she enrolled in nursing school and afterwards worked faithfully as a nurse for Novant Health in Winston Salem for 19 years.

Spiritually Mrs. Toe was a faithful and devoted member of Phillips Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Winston Salem, where she served on the Nursing Board, taught Sunday school, and co-organized the Vacation Bible School. She also was a member of the Forsyth County Sunday School Union.

Mrs. Toe departed this life on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Silas Creek Rehabilitation Center.

She was predeceased by her parents; an uncle, Jake Huntley; and aunt, Evelyn Eldridge; and her brother, Charles Flowers.

She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Joseph Toe of the home; a dear son, Reco Wilson of Winston Salem, NC; a devoted niece, Alicia Latten of Texas; cousins, Brenda Thompson-Huntley and Cynthia (Means) Huntley, all of Winston Salem, NC; a great niece, Elizabeth Latten of Winston Salem, NC; a great nephew, Keith Mattier of Atlanta, Ga.; adopted daughters, Irene (Eddie) Wesee and Vivian Teewiah and five grandchildren, all of Minnesota; and a host of other relatives and friends.
