Mrs. Patricia Ann Spears Harris, lovingly known as "Pat," "Spruta," and "Grandma," graced this world on January 28, 1947, in Winston-Salem, NC, a cherished daughter of the late Matthew and Willie Mae Glenn Spears. She was a proud 1963 graduate of Anderson High School.
Pat dedicated over 42 years to North Carolina Baptist Hospital, embodying commitment and compassion. Her spiritual journey found profound expression at Middle Fork Christian Church, where she served faithfully on the Deacon Board and the Christian Women's Fellowship. Her love for family, especially her grandchildren, was boundless. Patricia's life was marked by generosity and the desire to ensure others never lacked what they needed, while her affection for shopping added joy to her leisure.
She was preceded in death by her three sons, Danny Spears Wright, Darren Wright, and Melvin Dodd, and two brothers, Matthew Spears Jr. and Michael Parker.
On July 3, 2026, she peacefully departed this life surrounded by loved ones. Patricia's leaves cherished memories to her wonderful husband, Walter "Walt" Harris; her daughter, Renae Wright Wellman; her son, Walter Harris Jr.; twelve grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Elaine (Reginald "Reggie") Tillman and Gale Spears; brother Samuel (Rose) Wright; her devoted sister-in-law and friend of over 65 years, Doris Davis; along with cherished nieces, nephews, and a host of friends and relatives.
A Celebration of her Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Middle Fork Christian Church, 2216 E. 1st Street, Winston-Salem, NC. Family and friends will gather to honor her memory from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm before the service.
