Patricia Ann Patterson, affectionately known as "Ms. Pat", was born January 20, 1948 in Washington DC to the late Charles Alphonser Patterson and Evelyn Helen Reynolds.

Patricia lived and worked in several different cities over her lifetime, but the majority of that time was spent in Winston Salem, NC, where she was educated in the local school system and was a 1973 graduate of Winston Salem State University, with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work. Spiritually,  Patricia attended Hanes Memorial CME Church in her early 20's, but since was a longtime congregant of the Church of Christ, worshipping at Southeast Church of Christ at the time of her death, where she was actively involved.

Patricia never met a stranger and always had a kind word to say, interesting conversation to share, and great advice to give. And although she shared her caring spirit with everyone she came in contact with, Patricia's heart belonged to her loving family.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Steven Reynolds; and paternal grandmother, aunts and uncles that all helped  to raise her.

She departed this life Thursday February 22, 2024 at  the Trellis Supportive Care Center.

To cherish her memory, Patricia leaves her devoted daughter, Meredith Boyd; granddaughter, Brinay Simon; grandson, Michael Simon, all of Winston Salem, NC; "special daughters", Melissa Haney (William) of Kernersville, NC, Jeanee Alexander and Mikayla Lockhart, both of Charlotte, NC; "special granddaughter", Ashley Amos of Winston Salem, NC; brother, Anthony Comundoiwilla (Lula) of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Friday March 1, 2024 in the chapel of Hooper Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12:30pm-1pm at the funeral home Friday.
