Mr. Paul Anderson, born November 20, 1944, to the late James Starr and Henrietta Anderson in Rock Hill, South Carolina, was a proud 1965 graduate of Emmett Scott High School.

He worked for many years at National Linen and retired from Thomasville Furniture. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing his guitar, riding his bike, and most of all, taking long walks.

Spiritually, he was a dedicated and faithful member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as an usher and actively participated in all church events. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Moses Anderson and Robert Wilson, and a niece, Marilyn Anderson. He departed this life on Monday, August 24, 2026, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

Mr. Anderson leaves behind cherished memories with his siblings: Lillie Anderson of Charlotte, NC; Alexander Anderson of Long Island, NY; Kenneth W. Wilson of Winston-Salem, NC; Carl Wilson and Talmadge Wilson both of Washington, DC; and Venetta W. Griggs of Winston-Salem, NC. He is also survived by nieces and nephews: Sheila Anderson, Michael Anderson, Katina Hoyle, Latonya Hoyle, Kelvin Griggs, Kellen Griggs, Kimberly Griggs, Kenneth Wilson Jr., and Brittney Wilson; a host of great-nieces and great-nephews; other relatives; and friends, including a special friend, Delores Cole.

A celebration of his life will be held at 12 noon on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 11:30 am to 12 noon at the church. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park. His remains may be viewed on Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 12 pm to 5 pm at the funeral home.
