Reverend Reginald Buie was born on February 24, 1963 to the late James Buie, Sr. and Betty Sampson, in Fayetteville, NC.  He peacefully went to be with his heavenly Father on Tuesday, July 4, 2023.

Reginald, affectionately known as Reggie, moved to Philadelphia at 3 years old.  He graduated from Germantown High School.  Reggie enjoyed playing basketball and often reminded everyone of his impressive basketball skills with the Super Sonics Basketball team.

He was preceded in death by his brothers: James Buie, Jr, John Buie and Kent Sampson.

Reggie was a retired supervisor of the Wake County Schools and later started his own custodial company for many years. He was called to the ministry in 2007 and shared his enthusiasm and passion ministering to young children and spreading the Word of God.  He spent many years as a chaplain encouraging friends, family, and strangers as well as sharing the gospel. His hobbies included traveling, mentoring, sharing inspirational stories, beautifying his yard and cooking.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Jonelle Buie, two sons; Kevin Wright and Thomas Wright of the home; Aunt Marva Golson (PA); Uncle Jackie Sampson (Debra) (PA), mother-in-love, Patricia Patton (SC); sister, Bonita Patton, (VA); three brothers in love: Eugene Patton (Tammy) (NC), Corey Patton (Alexis), (NC) Johnathan Patton (DaNiece)(GA), Godchildren: Ebony Scott, Brandon Easterling, Naomi Easterling and a host nephews and nieces.

A service honoring his memory will be conducted Saturday, July 8th at Brighter Hope Christian Fellowship, 385 Slate Top Road, Clayton, NC 27520.
