Rev. Emory Lee Clark Jr., born August 26, 1935, in Winston-Salem, NC, to the late Rev. Emory L. Clark Sr. and Dora King Clark, passed away on July 19, 2026, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. A devoted servant of faith and community, Rev. Clark left an indelible mark on the lives of many.

A proud graduate of Carver High School, he went on to serve his nation with honor in the United States Army. Professionally, Rev. Clark worked as a draftsman for Fairchild Industries and AMP and later retired from a dedicated career in security at IBM Electronics.

Rev. Clark's spiritual journey was rich and impactful. As a pastor, he led congregations at Second New Bethel Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, Morning Star Baptist Church in Durham, and Paynes Chapel in Mt. Airy, cultivating faith and nurturing new ministers across the area. Known for his remarkable singing talents, he found great joy in sharing his love of music and preaching.

In his leisure, Rev. Clark cherished moments spent bowling and playing pool. While he enjoyed these pastimes, his true legacy lies in the warmth and guidance he offered to all who knew him.

He is remembered by his daughters, Cynora D. Lilly and Sharon Clark, six grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and a devoted friend, Rev. Sam Hickerson. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Victor Clark Sr. and Emory L. Clark III, his daughter, Cynthia Hall, grandson, Gerald Clark, and brother, James Spann.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life on Friday, July 31, 2026, at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, with visitation starting at 12:30 pm. Apublic viewing will be held Thursday July 30, 2026 from 12 pm-5pm at Hooper Funeral Home. His life and the love he shared will be cherished forever.
