Obituary

Mr. Ronald Bernard Caldwell was born June 26, 1944 to Hubert H. Caldwell and Elizabeth Robinson in Winston-Salem, NC. Ronald ascended from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Thursday September 30, 2021

Ronald was educated in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools and A& T State University. He also enjoyed playing football while in high  school.

Spiritually he accepted Christ as his personal Savior early in life and attended Middle Fork Christian Church much of his life. He later in life became a member of Redland Church of Christ.

He was an advocate for children/youth through his employment as a Junior Executive of the Boy Scouts of America as well as many job roles throughout the community. His personal enjoyment was cooking-and cooking he did; from wedding cakes to all kinds of "good dishes".

In addition to his parents he as preceded in death by a stepson Marcus Jones.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 25 years. Mary Jones Caldwell; his children, Kevin Caldwell,  Roslyn (Dempsey)Bond,  Rhonda Caldwell, and Jerald Caldwell; stepdaughter Samantha (Kenyatta) Nixon of Bear, Delaware; brother Fredrick (Brenda) Caldwell; two sisters, Courtney C. Saunders and Phyllis(John) Clawson; sister-in-law Vecolia Caldwell; brother-in-;aw Garland A. Wallace Sr.; eleven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including a devoted family friend Vanessa Lyerly.

Funeral services will held 1:00 pm  Thursday October 7, 2021 at Hooper Funeral Home. His remains may be viewed on  Wednesday October 6, 2021 from 12pm-6pm at the funeral home.
