On the glorious day of December 19, 1921, Mrs. Rosa Lee McClendon Gilliam was born to Amos and Della McClendon of Wadesboro, NC. She moved with her parents to Winston Salem at the age of 11 years old. with her parents.

She was married to Owens Gilliam Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, C. Diana Gilliam. Two grandchildren, Tonithia Gilliam and Justin Gilliam. A bonus grandson, Monterius Williams. Five great grandchildren, Ahmad, Treyshawn, JaLeion, NyAshia and Xzavion; two sisters, Rosa Mae Holland and E. Louise Crump and one sister- in-law, Melanie Richardson; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. One lifelong physician, Dr. Brenda Latham-Sadler and the staff at CRT Golden Lamb Rest Home. Mrs. Gilliam is also survived by special extended family and friends.

Mrs. Rosa Lee was a member of Union Baptist Church for most of her adult life. In recent years she united with St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church.

Mrs. Rosa Lee Gilliam died July 8, 2021 at CRT Golden Lamb Rest Home, following a period of convalescence. The family will receive friends 12:30pm Saturday, July 17, 2021 at St. Stephen Baptist Church with a service of memory following at 1pm.
