Rosina Peola Woodard Brown was born March 12, 1937 to the late Nathaniel Floyd Best and Queen Ester Woodard. A Baptist by faith, she attended the Forsyth county public schools and was a graduate of Forsyth Technical College.

Ms. Brown was gainfully employed as a receptionist and accountant at McCormick & Company in Baltimore, MD where she lived for twenty years before returning to Winston-Salem.

In her spare time she loved to sew and was an avid reader. Ms. Brown loved helping people in any way possible. She was a woman of God who prayed for her family constantly. She kept up with the daily news as much as possible.

Ms.  Brown departed this life Monday September 12, 2022 at the Silas Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John Henry Brown; siblings, Thomas Robinson, Felix Robinson, Alvin Best, Natalie Best, and Robin Marable.

She is  survived by her brother, Floyd (Alfreda) Best of Baltimore, MD; sister Esther Wellman; sisters-in-law, Edith Robinson, Carrie Robinson, Margaret McFarlin and Jeannette Terry; brother –in-law,  Donald Marable  life long friend, Catherine Harris; a host of nieces, including devoted niece/caregiver,  Felicia Cassaberry, Renee Robinson, Deania Wilhite, Melinda Smith, Tameka Wardlow;  great niece Keyonda Cassaberry; nephews/sons, Rashawn Robinson, Andre' Robinson, Tyrone Brannon, Justin Smith and Felix Robinson Jr.; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 pm Saturday September 24, 2022 in the chapel of  Hooper Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 11:30am-12:00pm at the funeral home.
