Ruby Jacqueline Hairston,56,departed this early life at Atrium Health in Winston-Salem, NC on Thursday January 5, 2023 surrounded by family.

Ruby joined the Lord Jesus Christ Apostolic Church at an early age. She graduated from Parkland High School, class of 1985. She was employed by  Carolina Classic First Home Care and Oak Forest Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Affectionately known as, "Ruby Jack," she was loved by everyone she came in contact with, was genuine and always willing to lend a helping hand. Ruby was devoted to her family and cherished her grandchildren.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, George L. Hairston and Levolia D. Satterfield; sisters, Georgia A. Thompson, and Helen Marie Hairston,

She is survived by two daughters, Tereeta Hairston of the home, Jasmine Hairston of Rural Hall, NC; five granddaughters, Brenae Hamilton, Taylor Hardy, Taylor Hardy of the home, Haven Atwater, and Kyndall Patterson; one grandson, Legend Hairston-Bryant; an extended granddaughter, Samiya Smith; two sisters, Lorene and Brenda Hairston of Walnut Cove, NC; three brothers, Leonard and Al Ray Hairston of Walnut Cove, NC and Melvin Turner of Winston-Salem, NC; five aunts, including a devoted aunt, Ruby C. Hairston, Marie Carroll of Walnut Cove, NC, Arlene Carroll, Dorothy Burton of Winston-Salem, NC, and Georgia Ann Hairston, Midvale, OH; two uncles Raymond (Thelma) Carroll and Stanley (Sharon) Carroll; three nephews, Barry Hairston of Climax, NC, Dominique Hairston of Walnut Cove, NC, Cory Hairston of Winston-Salem, NC; two nieces, Tiffany (Reeder) Smith, Germanton, NC, Giniah Hairston of Winston-Salem, NC; three special friends, Trina Adams, Kathy Martin and Clara Warren; and a host of aunts, uncles and many friends.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Wednesday January 11, 2023 at Rockhill Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 2:00pm-3:00pm at the church. Interment will follow in the Hairston Cemetery, Walnut Cove, NC.

Her remains may be viewed Tuesday January 10, 2023 from 11:00 am-6:00 pm at the funeral home.
